Well, it is that time of the year again. January always slows down a bit, in fact it is our slowest month of the year for family portraits at the beach. So we usually take this time to rest, regroup, and reflect on the previous year and the new year going forward.
This past year was such an amazing year. We photographed over two hundred and forty families. We met so many new people, formed some new friendships, and got to visit with some of the families that come back to us year after year.
We’ve spent some time thinking and talking about what to do for this coming year. Maybe adding some new things or experimenting with some new looks. But, then we stopped ourselves. As photographers it is in our nature to always want to experiment and do new things. But sometimes you have to take a step back and say. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. So we came up with some simple New Years resolutions. We’re going to continue to perfect what we are already doing right. Identify and fix any weak areas that we think need improvement. But overall, continue to be consistent with a focus on beautiful but simple and natural beach family portraits. Focusing on strengthening the core of what makes Clearwater Beach Portraits so successful.
Clearwater Beach Portraits has been so successful because we focus on making the family photography experience about you, your needs, and making your portraits look like a true reflection of you and your family. We keep it simple and focus on engaging the kids the get real smiles, keeping the session moving at a fun pace so the entire family has a good time, we keep the entire family laughing during the entire session so that the portraits look natural when we click the shutter. We focus on the simple techniques like posing in a natural way that is pleasing to the eye, looks professional, but isn’t overly complicated.
Communication is our overall strongest asset during the entire portrait experience. We are not shy, and we have personality. We love working with the kids and hanging out with all the cool families we get to meet every year. So building a rapport quickly with Mom and Dad, and gaining the trust of children early on in the portrait session is crucial. We are experts at building that relationship within a one hour session, that is what sets us apart and it shows in our work.
We love what we do and it shows. That’s the big secret. Shhhh don’t tell anyone. We wouldn’t want to let that recipe for success to get out to the other guys. 🙂
2015 is going to be a fantastic year. We’re going to focus on making what we already do best even better.
See you at the beach!
